Installation, Disconnection & Appliance Recycling Services
At Kitchenary, selected large appliances are available with a 2-man delivery service and optional installation, disconnection and appliance recycling services. These services are designed to make replacing a large kitchen appliance simpler, safer and more convenient, particularly for heavier items such as electric cookers, range cookers, ovens, dishwashers, fridges and freezers.
Where available, these services can be selected when purchasing an eligible appliance. Availability may depend on the product type, delivery postcode, property access and the type of connection required.
Installation & Connection
For selected appliances, our delivery partner can help install or connect your new appliance at the time of delivery. This may include positioning the appliance, connecting it to suitable existing services and completing basic checks so that the product is ready for use.
Installation services may be available for selected freestanding electric cookers, range cookers, dishwashers and refrigeration appliances. For refrigeration products, this may include delivery into the correct room and plug-in setup where suitable. For dishwashers, this may include connection to existing water, waste and electrical points. For electric cookers and range cookers, connection is subject to the property having a suitable existing electrical supply and safe access to the connection point.
Our installation service does not include building work, changes to kitchen units, new plumbing, new electrical circuits, gas work, alterations to worktops, or any remedial work required to make the connection safe or accessible. If the delivery team cannot complete the installation because the site is unsuitable, the appliance can still usually be delivered, but installation may not be possible.
Disconnection
If you are replacing an existing appliance, a disconnection service may be available for selected products. This means the delivery team can disconnect your old appliance before your new one is installed or positioned.
Disconnection may be available for selected dishwashers, refrigeration appliances, freestanding electric cookers and range cookers. The old appliance must be safely accessible, free from obstructions and connected to standard existing services. For wet appliances such as dishwashers, the water supply and waste connection must be accessible and in suitable condition. For electric cookers, the appliance must be connected to a suitable existing electrical point that can be safely isolated.
Disconnection does not include gas appliances, unsafe connections, hidden or inaccessible pipework, damaged valves, seized fittings, or any work requiring a plumber, electrician, gas engineer or builder. If the team considers the existing connection unsafe or unsuitable, they may be unable to disconnect the appliance.
Appliance Recycling
For eligible orders, we can arrange for your old appliance to be taken away for responsible disposal or recycling when your new appliance is delivered. This is a convenient option for bulky items such as cookers, range cookers, dishwashers, fridges and freezers.
The appliance being collected should be disconnected, emptied and ready for removal unless you have also selected a disconnection service. Fridges and freezers should be fully emptied and defrosted before collection, with any water wiped away. Dishwashers should be emptied and drained as far as possible. Cookers and ovens should be cool, clean enough to handle safely and free from loose trays, pans or accessories.
The recycling service is intended for a like-for-like old appliance being removed at the same time as your new delivery. The appliance must be safe for the delivery team to handle and must be accessible without requiring dismantling, door removal, specialist lifting equipment or building work.
How the Delivery Appointment Works
Once your order has been processed and the appliance is ready for delivery, you will be contacted to arrange a suitable delivery date. You will then receive confirmation of your delivery slot by SMS or phone, depending on the contact details provided.
On the day of delivery, the delivery team will usually call ahead before arrival. They will bring the appliance into the agreed delivery location, complete any selected services where possible, and ask for confirmation once the delivery has been completed.
Before Your Delivery
To help the delivery and service go smoothly, please make sure there is a clear route from the entrance of your property to the appliance location. Check that doorways, hallways, stairs and access points are wide enough for the appliance and that the area around the existing appliance is clear.
Please also make sure any old appliance being disconnected or recycled is empty and accessible. For fridges and freezers, this means fully emptying and defrosting the appliance before the delivery team arrives. For dishwashers, please remove all dishes and clear access to the water, waste and electrical connections.
If the delivery team cannot safely access the property, move the appliance into position, disconnect the old appliance or complete the installation due to unsuitable site conditions, the service may not be completed.
Important: Installation, disconnection and recycling services are only available on selected products and postcodes. Services may vary by appliance type and will be shown where available on the product page or at checkout. Delivery above ground floor, difficult access, Scottish Highlands, offshore locations and certain remote areas may require separate confirmation.
